Vehicle Description
Sometimes, you get so used to seeing something that you start to overlook it no matter how flashy it is. That's the case with, say, bright red Chevelles, but you never really noticed until this pretty Lime Green Metallic ragtop crossed your path. Aren't you over your red fixation yet?
Actually, now that I've seen this car, I think the Lime Green Metallic looks better on this year Chevelle than almost anything else. It lifts the design beyond mere transportation and gives it an upscale look that complements the handsome trim and tidy proportions. Miraculously, it remains a standard Chevelle, not an SS clone, but that didn't mean the guys at the body shop cut corners. Quite the contrary, in fact, as panel alignment and door gaps are quite good, and the black tape stripe that runs the length of the car is perfectly straight and expertly installed. The bumpers have been re-chromed, the stainless trim polished, and even the original grille remains in outstanding condition thanks to a lifetime of easy living. This car just looks great.
Not being an SS doesn't mean the interior isn't a performance-oriented place to do business. With buckets and a console, it has a very sporty demeanor that's perfectly appropriate for the Chevelle, and all of it remains in excellent condition. The wood-rimmed steering wheel warms up the all-black upholstery, while the horseshoe shifter is easy to grab and is a trademark of late-60s GM A-bodies. Two auxiliary gauges augment the factory setup, giving you a full view of the engine's goings-on, and a newer AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit is fitted in the original radio's location with speakers throughout the interior (the original radio is included with the car). A great-fitting black top with crystal clear rear window raises and lowers itself with a touch of a switch under the steering column, and one glance in the trunk will prove to you that this car has never been rusty.
Powered by a 307 cubic inch small block it wears a few traditional upgrades, but as a small block Chevy, you know it runs right and sounds great. An Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor have been fitted, along with a set of long-tube headers, so it makes more than adequate power. The block is covered in Chevy Orange paint, and chrome valve covers and matching air cleaner add a bit of flash for when you want to open the hood at the next cruise night. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission makes every drive a pleasure, and the rumbling Flowmaster exhaust system will give you a very good reason to dip into the loud pedal every now and then. Spotless floors are exactly what you want to see on a vintage ragtop, with classic Rally wheels and white-letter Goodyears for just the right look.
A highly original car with a lot going for it, you can enjoy this open-air V8 Chevelle for just pennies on the dollar compared to a big block SS. Call today!
